How to disassemble an LG washing machine with your own hands?

If you have any idea about the structure of washing machines in general, then there is nothing to stop you from trying to fix the problem yourself, so as not to overpay for repairs, which may well be trivial. But, oddly enough, the problem often arises at the very initial stage - when disassembling an unfamiliar device, made somewhere in China or Japan, people, who think a little differently. Although in reality everything can be very simple. Let's see, how to disassemble an LG washing machine with an inverter motor, made in South Korea.

It is not necessary to undertake repairs, if you do not know anything about electrical engineering or if the warranty period for the device has not expired.

Tools

It is worth noting, that company LG took excellent care of the maintainability of their equipment, although at first glance it may seem, that it is under the power of only licensed specialists from the service center.

Actually, to disassemble the entire line of the latest models, released by LG, you need almost nothing, in addition to a pair of screwdrivers and pliers!

To get to the key components and parts of the LG washing machine, we will need a minimum of adaptations. But for greater convenience and just in case, it is good to have the following tools at hand:

  • pliers or curved pliers;
  • adjustable wrench;
  • set of horn keys;
  • hammer;
  • collar under the end nozzle;
  • nozzles on a collar from 8 to 18 mm;
  • small flat screwdriver;
  • Phillips screwdriver;
  • awl.

Disassembly procedure

First, where to start, Is a cover, which is fastened with two screws on the rear wall of the machine. Unscrew these screws with a Phillips screwdriver, release it from gear, shifting on itself, then lift up and remove.

It is then possible to remove the rear wall of the machine to access all the internal parts of the rear, unless it has a specially designed service hatch for this purpose (on all modern models it is).

Further disassembly of the LG washing machine involves removing the control panel. To do this, first completely remove the powder container from the nest, and then unscrew the two screws, which are hidden under it.

In addition, the control panel holds plastic latches, located at the top and bottom. You must first remove the top with a flat screwdriver, and then gently pull the panel towards you and slightly upwards, to release it from engagement with the lower latches.

You do not need to completely remove the control panel and disconnect the wires from it. Simply remove it to the side and secure to the side wall with scotch tape.

Our next step will be to remove the rubber cuff of the hatch, that in LG models is attached to the body with a metal clamp with a spring. To remove it, you need to pick up the spring with a screwdriver and pull it on yourself, until the collar is removed from the cuff. Then just push the rubber of the hatch deeper into the drum and proceed to the removal of other panels.

You should start with a small panel at the bottom, where the garbage filter hatch is located. Below it are the screws, unscrewing which, we can remove the bottom panel with a small flat screwdriver.

After that we get access to the lower mounts of the large front wall, which also needs to be removed to access the internal nodes.

Before, how to remove the front panel, be sure to disconnect the sunroof lock wire from it (UBL).

Now you can disassemble the inside of the washing machine. Remove the counterweights around the hatch and the powder receiver compartment with nozzles and bulk valves, which are fastened by usual screws. Be sure to disconnect the wiring harness from the valves first.

The tank with the washing machine drum no longer holds anything, so let's move on to the bottom. We use the tools we have to disconnect:

  • hose to presostat;
  • engine wires;
  • spit pipe;
  • wires tan;
  • racks, hold the tank.

After that the tank with a drum and the engine remains to hang on one springs. To remove the inverter motor, you need to unscrew the six bolts under the cover, which is held by a large central bolt. Unscrew it, while holding the drum with the other hand.

Now all that remains is to dismantle the tank with the drum. Fortunately for us, tanks in LZh cars are completely collapsible, so it won't be much work:

  1. Unscrew the screws, pulling the two halves of the tank.
  2. Remove the front half-tank.
  3. We pull back a back half-hull from the plug.
  4. Remove from the drum, bearings and seals.

Here are the instructions, how to disassemble your own LG washing machine, can be considered complete!

Conclusion

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in disassembling modern models. There are only small differences in the method of fastening certain parts. Home appliances should be produced "for people", and not for the benefit of companies, which pursue other goals. Such companies simply do not respect their consumers, and therefore their products do not deserve our attention.
