Why is it fading?, the gas boiler does not ignite
Many private houses, apartments are equipped with automatic and semi-automatic gas heating devices. The boiler is a reliable assistant for heating the room in winter. Even if he, before the heating season, performed maintenance, there is still a possibility of its breakdown. Consider the reasons, why the gas boiler goes out or does not light up and ways to restore the boiler's efficiency, if it turns on and off.
Reasons for the absence of flame in boilers with automatic ignition and methods of their elimination
Damaged ignition unit
In the photo, the electrical part of the turbocharged boiler "Ariston".
To detect the condition of the ignition block, you can use an electronic tester in ohmmeter mode. The probes are connected to the output of the contacts of the ignition electrodes (or to the electrodes themselves), located on the block. The block is working, if the tester readings are within the limits 650 — 750 Ohm.
Checking the automatic ignition unit of the "Ariston" boiler.
In the damaged unit, the tester will record the break (will light up on the display 1) or short circuit (will light up 0). The detected defective part is replaced by a similar one.
Contaminated flame control electrode
In the process of fuel combustion, soot is formed, which falls on the working surface of the electrode, and disrupts its proper operation. Clean the surface of the electrode with sandpaper with a fine grain. If it didn't help:
- move the temperature control knob to the heating off position;
- wait for the circulation pump to turn off, Dimososa;
- on the dashboard, click the turn off button;
- unplug and unfold, on 180 degrees, appliance plug;
- insert the plug back into the outlet;
- turn on the boiler.
Smooth shutdown of heating equipment extends its service life.
Operation of the flame control unit, due to the principle of action, depends on the phasing of the power supply network (phase and zero connection points). So, rephasing helps him restore the sensitivity of gas ions.
Low mains voltage
Ignition block and electronic gas valve, due to insufficient voltage in the network, may not work properly. To maintain a stable level of supply voltage, it is advisable to connect the boiler through a voltage stabilizer. It will protect the electronic elements of the gas boiler during voltage surges.
Malfunction of the gas valve
The valve may be blocked by debris, which entered through the gas burners. In the device, the inductor may burn out, designed to control the position of the valve. To check it, on a completely de-energized boiler, an ohmmeter is connected to the stamps. The coil is considered working, during the readings 80 — 90 Ohm.
Checking the gas valve coil.
To clean the gas regulator, the side part of the case is unscrewed there, where the valve is located. Garbage is removed and his workspace is cleaned. Assembled in reverse order. Often, fasteners with an unusual head profile are used to assemble the gas regulator: an asterisk with a pin. To work with such hardware, you need to purchase a screwdriver with a tip of the right size and profile or sharpen a screwdriver with a flat tip.
The reasons for the lack of spark and flame in boilers with semi-automatic ignition - methods of their elimination
Most of these models are equipped with Eurosit 630 automatics".
Photo of automation "Eurosit 630".
One of the reasons, why the Eurosit 630 automatic gas boiler does not light or go out" can be:
Defective piezo element
A piezo element is a reliable part of gas boiler automation and breaks in rare cases. It is installed next to the coolant temperature control knob, but can be mounted separately. To check the functionality, it is enough to disconnect the wire, along which the generated voltage from the electrode moves, and bring it to the valve body at a distance 4-8 mm
Piezo element wire disconnected from the electrode.
Press the start button of the piezo element several times. If a spark appeared, between the wire and the housing, means, the generator is working and attention should be paid to the electrode itself, the ceramic body of which must be dry and intact. The electrode fastening nut should be tightened only by hand.
The emergency electrical circuit is broken
The emergency boiler protection system consists of:
- connecting wires;
- bimetallic sensors, installed in the chimney and heating supply line, which are triggered at temperature 75-85 degrees Celsius;
Feed line sensor.
Chimney sensor.
- thermocouples, which generates voltage 10 — 20 mg;
- traction chopper;
- electric valve, consisting of an inductor, stock, valve.
If the emergency circuit breaks, the electric valve will not open, gas will not enter the combustion chamber.
Connecting wires and bimetallic sensors are checked by a tester (multimeter). The resistance of the chain of connecting wires and sensors connected in series should be minimal - 0,3 – 0,5 Ohm. It is necessary to pay attention to the absence of oxidized and loose contacts.
In the absence of the device, the integrity of the sensor chain can be checked in this way. We set the temperature regulator to the "*" position. By pressing it, supply gas to the burner igniter and press the start button of the piezo element at the same time. The igniter should ignite. We are waiting 15 — 30 seconds and release the temperature control button. In normal condition, the boiler igniter should continue to burn. If the igniter has gone out, repeat the actions described above, and before releasing the temperature regulator button, close the circuit breaker contacts, to which series-connected bimetallic sensors are connected with a screwdriver.
The traction breaker contacts are closed to check the integrity of the installation and bimetallic sensors of the gas boiler.
If now the igniter continues to burn, one of the sensors is faulty or a bad contact in the circuit. Each of the sensors can also be tested, closing his contacts. This should be taken into account, that the sensors must be cold.
If and after closing the traction breaker contacts, the igniter goes out, the thermocouple should be checked.
Thermocouple, while in the flame of the igniter, generates emf, from which the solenoid valve should operate. By turning on the multimeter to measure the constant voltage, and by connecting the measuring probes to the bronze body and the lower contact of the draft breaker, you can measure the voltage generated by the thermocouple. It should be within the limits 12-20 mg.
Checking the thermocouple of the "Eurosit 630" automation.
In the absence of voltage, it is necessary to remove the thermocouple, disconnect it from the circuit breaker and the igniter and check its operation. Heating the tip of the thermocouple with a lighter, the voltage on its contact relative to the tube body is measured. In the absence of EMF, the thermocouple should be replaced. Otherwise, it is necessary to remove the traction breaker, pull out the plastic sleeve with contacts from it, wipe them with alcohol and check the solenoid valve.
The resistance of a good inductor is in the range 25 — 30 Ohm.
Installing a new thermocouple, pay attention, so that only the tip of the thermocouple is in the flame of the igniter.
Damaged fuel control system
The system consists of a hermetic circuit: copper tube, balloon, modulator thermostat, along which kerosene moves. Kerosene expands during heating, the modulator unit moves forward and gradually shuts off the gas supply. Kerosene is compressed as it cools, the thermostat rises, gas enters the combustion chamber. From the wick, the fuel ignites, and the whole process starts again.
If there is no kerosene in the system, the thermostat will be opened. The fuel supply will not be regulated, and the boiler is constantly turned off in emergency mode due to overheating of the coolant. Although, the stoppage of the valve will occur due to the failure of the emergency circuit, but it belongs to the main sources of this breakdown: improper operation of the flame modulation system. If there is no kerosene in the fuel control circuit, the valve is completely replaceable.
Clogged valve or torch tube
During the summer period, the single-circuit boiler is not operated. It becomes an excellent source of housing for many types of insects - spiders, flies, etc. d. In practice, in the process of troubleshooting, from burners, valve outlet and torch tube were removed alive, so are dead insects. They partially or completely blocked the flow of gas to the required points. Sources of pollution can be rust and combustion products.
Considering the question, why does it go out, the gas boiler does not ignite, this technical characteristic of the gas boiler is important, as a type of burner ignition. In Article, out of necessity, other characteristics are not mentioned - floor, wall, etc. d.
