How to demagnetize a TV at home

Many owners of outdated TV models are wondering: how to demagnetize the TV at home? People face this problem, when the unit starts to malfunction, showing a distorted picture. This problem is common to most devices with a cathode ray tube and is called "magnetization".

Why is this happening

The main reason, on which there is a magnetization of a kinescope, there is a long stay of electronic devices in the immediate vicinity. In this case, the demagnetization system remains inactive. Experts recommend periodically disconnecting the TV from the mains, to prevent possible problems with the tube.

When choosing this option should be considered, that the loop can not cope with the strong magnetization of the tube. In this case, you will have to resort to the second method.

disconnect the TV from the mains;
remove all electrical appliances from the demagnetization site.

After the above steps, connect the choke to the mains and start circular movements in a spiral, bringing it closer to the center of the tube. By carrying out such manipulations, move the choke away from the TV screen far enough and turn off the appliance.

Importantly: the whole process of demagnetization should not take you more 40-50 seconds, otherwise you may damage the CRT of the TV.

You can assemble an electric magnet at home, using an electric wire with a plug, iron arc and winding.

Take an iron arc and connect it to the mains by connecting it to a 220V wire. Isolate the received device and plug it into the mains. The sequence of actions is no different from the process of demagnetization by a special choke.
