How to remove paint from the car with your own hands
We decided to repaint the car? This procedure must be preceded by the removal of old paint. To do the work with your hands you will need the following:

The chemical method involves removing paint from the car with a macular brush and a special tool:
- caustic soda (25-30%);
- alkaline paste;
- solvent 646 or 647;
- washes (SD (Mr.), SD (about), AFP-1);

If you prefer caustic soda, the calculation must be carried out according to a generally accepted rule: the amount of product is proportional to the layers of old paint. exept this, it is necessary to provide a stock, as the solution flows from the vertical surface of the machine.
The sequence of work:
- evenly distributed with a macular brush 25-30% soda solution from the surface of the car;
- withstand from 10 to 12 hours, depending on the condition of the surface, thoroughly wash off paint residue with hot water;
- if necessary, repeat the process to remove all layers of paint from the car.
The application of paste is practiced, which includes a slightly alkaline solution, organic and mineral substances:
- the paste is distributed with a brush in a thin layer;
- withstand on average 2 years, thoroughly washed off with water;
- to achieve the desired result, the paste is applied to the car body three times.

Chemical paint removal
Modern means for removing paintwork can significantly speed up the painting of the car. Traditionally, the manufacturer recommends using them in three stages with an interval of 3-4 minutes. It is possible to purchase the tool, which is enough to apply once, that will simplify removal of paint by the hands. Remove the paint mechanically
Mechanical method - the best option for processing a small area of the car surface, because it takes a lot of time. In this case, the following will be required:
- scraper;
- brush;
- P80 sandpaper;
- pumice;
- surface grinder.
The grinder will allow to clean qualitatively from paint all car, and a wire brush is used as a grinding wheel.
The use of a compressor is practiced, equipped with a sandblasting nozzle. But to remove old paint from the car in this way requires experience, without professional training it is quite problematic to remove the old layer of paint.
You should refrain from using this method, if the paint is elastic, because it will not be possible to clean a car surface qualitatively. And the purchase of special equipment will significantly affect the budget.
Mechanical removal of the car's paintwork does not require special training, it is enough to press a grinding machine disk accurately to the processed site (avoid excessive effort); periodically remove exfoliated particles. After "cleaning", wash off dust and dirt with water.

The thermal method involves the use of such tools:
- blowtorch;
- gas burner;
- industrial hair dryer;
- scraper;
- hard brush.
The surface must be heated with a blowtorch, gas burner, special hair dryer, and then carefully remove the softened paint from the surface of the car with a brush or scraper.
Avoid strong pressure, otherwise you will get deep damage to the material. This method is relevant for the treatment of a small area, it will be quite difficult to clean the whole car with your own hands, but also possible.
Care should be taken to treat areas of the car body, located in close proximity to plastic parts, vulnerable to high temperatures.
In order not to be poisoned by toxic substances, released during the heating of the paint layer, work is recommended to be performed outdoors, in a respirator.
