How to make your own device for the Bulgarian: rack for precise cutting, casing-dust collector
Possibilities of the Bulgarian can be expanded not only at the expense of various nozzles, but also installing it on special homemade devices. As a result, you can get a cutting machine, by means of which there is a possibility of exact cutting of metal preparations at right angles or any other. exept this, the Bulgarian can be installed on the carriage and use the resulting machine for cutting sheet steel.
Cutting machine from the Bulgarian
For, to understand, as from the angle grinder (KSHM) make a cutting machine, there are various drawings on the internet. But they do little to help, as all sizes of details all the same should be selected, based on the size of the Bulgarian you have. Options for making devices can be as simple as, and more complex, requiring the ability to handle a welding machine.
Version 1
To make this device for a Bulgarian, welder skills required. so, you need to do the following.
First, cut from the corner (50x50 mm) 2 small pieces. Their size is selected, based on the dimensions of the gear unit of your USHM.
Further, drill holes in them with a diameter 14 mm and fasten the corners to the UHM, as shown in the following photo. If you do not have the appropriate bolts, then you can use studs with M14 thread. Just be careful, so that the length of the bolts is not too long. Otherwise, they may cling to the impeller in some models of UHM, located in the gearbox housing.
Without removing the corners of the Bulgarian, grab them by welding. After this, the corners can be removed and scalded well.
Clean the welds with a sanding attachment for the Bulgarian.
Then you need to make a rotating support for the lever, on which the device will be fixed. To do this, choose 2 pipes of such diameters, so that one can enter the other without much effort.
For a more accurate cut on the tube, you can stick masking tape and draw a line on it.
Then, turn the tube, carefully cut it USHM. A section of pipe of smaller diameter should be shorter by 20 mm (thickness of 2 bearings) - it will serve as a strut.
Pick up for the pipe, that, which is thicker, 2 suitable for its inner bearing diameter. After this, insert a thin tube into the thick one and press the bearings on both sides.
Then insert the pin into the bearings. Be sure to nail it to the pallets only on the back and two sides not the front.
When the rotary mechanism is ready, to it it is necessary to weld a small segment of a corner.
At the next stage the rack for the rotary mechanism from the same corner of 50х50 mm becomes. That segments turned out of identical length, the corners can be clamped and trimmed.
Also, without unscrewing the clamp, they can be drilled immediately.
Attach the corners with drilled holes to the ready-made rotary unit with nuts.
Weld the corner to this rack more reliably, as shown in the following photos.
Now you need to determine the length of the lever, on which the USHM will be fixed. This is also done by the method of selection, based on the dimensions of your Bulgarian. You can lay out the details on the table and calculate the approximate size of the lever, which is better to make from 2 segments of a square profile pipe of 20х20 mm
Pipes must also be clamped and cut to the same size.
After, as all the details will be ready, they can be welded together, as shown in the following photos.
At the next stage, you can attach to the finished structure of the UHM and check again, what came out of it.
The ready pendulum mechanism for the Bulgarian is easily established on any flat surface, example, on the machine. Also, this design can be installed on a table specially made for it. For more rigid fastening of the mechanism to a table it is possible to weld small segments of corners from two parties of a long corner and to drill in them apertures..
In the following photos you can see, as fixed on the table (in this case a metal frame is used) ready device for KShM.
It is very important to set a right angle between the plane of the cutting disc and the plane of the table. Put the square on the table and you should push it to the abrasive wheel, installed on KShM. If at first you managed to cook the device so, that the angle between the planes was 90 degrees, that's good. If you notice a deviation from a right angle in one direction or another, then you can correct the situation with a crowbar or a long profile pipe, example, 60x20 mm
Now, when the angle is set perfectly, you can cut the tabletop.
That the detail at cutting did not move from a place, you can fasten a corner on the table, which will serve as a focus. Also for precise cutting the table is easily improved with simple vices, made of nuts welded to it and screwed into it pins of the required length.
Next you need to make a protective cover. It is made taking into account the maximum diameter of a cutting disk, which is permissible to put on a particular model of angle grinder. To make it easier to determine the size of the casing and the places for its attachment, you can make a template first, example, from a piece of cardboard.
- It is necessary to cut out of tin 2 blanks for the future casing.
- Screw an aluminum corner to one of the blanks. With its help the casing will be attached to the rod of the device.
- Twist 2 halves with each other.
- Drill holes for the corner on the pendulum bar, mounted on the casing, cut threads in them and fasten the protective cover.
In this case, the casing will also serve as a limiter for the cutting tool, which does not allow him to go too deep into the table during machining.
It will not be superfluous, if for the lever with the Bulgarian fixed on it to make elasticities. In this case, it's easy to do: insert a smaller tube on the back of the rod and attach a spring to it, as shown in the following photo.
This is how to make a cutting machine with your own hands, in which the angle grinder is used as a drive, can be considered complete.
Version 2
Another version of the device for the Bulgarian, by means of which it will be possible to cut metal preparations, is done as follows.
- Take it 2 sections of profile pipe of the same height and weld them to a pre-carved rectangular sheet metal.
- Drill in 2 racks and in the lever (the length is selected experimentally) open, then secure the latter with a bolt, as shown in the photo below.
- Attach a spring to the rear of the lever.
- Drill a through hole in the intended place of fastening of USHM on a bar.
- Now you can fix the Bulgarian on the table.
So, a simple cutting machine came out. Clamps can be used to provide additional rigidity to the lever, pre-laid between the body of the angle grinder and the pipe, example, wooden bar.
For precise cutting, so that the workpiece does not move, you need to fasten the corner to the table.
A similar version of the device is also suitable for a little Bulgarian, only fasten USHM will be on a metal strip: on the one hand a bolt to the USHM, and on the other - with a clamp.
For a powerful USHM to adapt is done on the same principle, but from larger profiles, than in the pictures above.
It is not necessary to use dumbbells as a counterweight. It is enough to find a suitable spring.
Version 3
This version of the device is the easiest to make with your own hands. It is made without a traditional stand (racks) for swivel block. You only need one door canopy, metal strip and eraser (you can use an eraser from a hand expander).
The design is as follows:
- in a metal strip on the one hand drill openings under a door canopy, and on the other - under the bolt, by means of which the strip will be fastened to the Bulgarian;
- fasten to the sanding belt and canopy;
- fasten the canopy to the table;
- fasten one end of the eraser to the edge of the table, and the other - for the holder (handle) USHM.
In just a few minutes you will get a quality cutting machine. This device is also mobile, because it can be carried in a tool bag, and, if necessary, mount on any flat surface.
Installing this device, do not forget to fix on a table a corner for a stop in it of a processed detail.
Cutting sheet waist with USHM
To cut sheet metal you need to buy a special carriage, which moves along the guide (profile square pipe).
But as practice shows, the cost of a good carriage is high (more 100 dollars), so you can make it with your own hands. It should be taken into account, that when cutting metal a lot of dust is formed. Therefore it is recommended to adapt a dust collector with a branch pipe under the vacuum cleaner to a casing of the Bulgarian.
How to make a homemade dust collector
The simplest dust collector for UHM can be made from a plastic bottle of motor oil.
The nozzle is made as follows.
- Attach a disc of this diameter to the container, which will be used for cutting, and make a markup: place the disk so, so that its edges do not cling to the casing, and mark the center.
- Cut a square hole in the side of the bottle with a stationery knife.
- It should also be cut 2 open opposite each other, in place, where you marked the center.
- Screw the dust collector to the Bulgarian, using standard holes for mounting the casing, and put a vacuum cleaner hose on the neck of the bottle.
- Put the cutting disc on the UHM shaft.
- Hole, which is used for convenience when replacing the tool, can be closed with a small piece of plastic.
After these simple steps, you can use the Bulgarian to process materials, when cutting which creates a lot of dust.
