LKP car - what is it?
You can protect the surface of the car from scratches and rust with a good coating. Paint and varnish coating (LKP) in transport is necessary for the appearance and beauty of the car, and to extend the life of the car body.
What is a paint coating, what types of LCP are? How to extend the life of such a coating?

Features and types of defects
To protect the car body from corrosion, the paint and varnish covering is applied, consisting of several layers (integumentary, intermediate and soil). Varnish is used, primer, enamel or paint. Each of the layers has its own function, aimed at protecting the metal from further damage. The durability of LCP in transport depends on the following factors:
- how well prepared ??car surface for painting;
- the choice of LCP system in accordance with those conditions, in which it will be operated;
- chemical, physical and mechanical properties of funds.
Formation of defects on the paintwork of the car
Surface defects can be as follows:
- old chips and scratches with corrosion and rust;
- damage, which reached the metal. Require restoration of the shape of the part, and then surface correction;
- small scratches, which are eliminated without drawing LKP, using polishing material.
The better the application of paint on the transport, the better its protection against rust and corrosion. Thickness of car paint (the table of dimensions is given below) each car is different. Thus on the same vehicle the layer can be not identical and usually fluctuates from 75 to 165 micron.

how to care
Already proven, that the best protection of a body against chips and scratches is not only accurate management of transport, but also timely care for him. If you regularly and properly wash the car and polish it, then you can significantly extend the life of the paint in general.
The point is, that as soon as the microcrack appears, dirt and dust begin to get into it. Over time, this leads to an increase in the crack and its deep penetration into the layers. With regular washing, the dirt is washed away, and polishing allows to fill microcracks with special substance. In addition, polishing creates an effective protective barrier against the sun, which affect the color.

There are other means, which help keep the paint in the car:
- liquid glass - a water-alkaline solution with sodium and potassium, which crystallizes on the surface of the body in a week and creates a transparent barrier;
- vinyl film;
- fabric cover;
- plastic deflector - mounted on the hood and side planes.

Remove scratches and chips
To restore the former luster of the paint in the car, you need to remove the surface layer with special substances. Restoration of a paint and varnish covering of a body of the car occurs in two ways:
- chemical. Acrylic paints are used (with two or three-component systems).
- abrasive. Varnishes without varnish are used.
Polishing with chemicals is carried out using coarse-grained abrasive materials. They remove strong scratches and dried paint. Fine-grained abrasive materials are used in the car to restore the gloss of the paintwork. In the end, funds without any abrasives are used for the final treatment.

Repair of scratches and chips on the paint in the car is as follows:
- The damaged area is thoroughly cleaned and all contaminants are removed. Wipe with a rag and dry.
- If the chip has not penetrated the metal, then it is treated with a solvent, otherwise the tool is contraindicated.
- When rust appears, it is removed.
- Using a sponge or brush, apply paint to the repair area. It should be distributed carefully and evenly.
- After the dye is completely dry, intensive polishing will be required.

At serious damages of LKP in a body and deformation of metal, it is necessary to use in addition anticorrosive means, degreaser, primer, paint and polishes.
How to paint a car in the garage
That the LKP in transport did not spoil, it is important to follow some recommendations. Do not wipe the surface of the car with a dry cloth, as this leads to micro-scratches. Do not wash vehicles immediately after a long trip, to avoid cracking the paint. Do not leave the car in the scorching sun for a long time.
