Ironing press for home and laundry: how to choose

Every housewife, caring mother after washing things begins to iron them. Sometimes this activity is boring. Especially, when it comes time to change the bed linen. The iron is small, and duvets and sheets are large. How to speed up the ironing process? Ironing press will help you, which will instantly cope with a mountain of crumpled linen.

Scope

Ironing presses are devices for ironing clothes. Initially, industrial presses for dry cleaning were released, laundry, sewing shops and workshops. They were large in size and high power consumption. Over time, the size of household ironing presses has been reduced, which made it possible to use them at home.

Modern presses are used for ironing things made of natural fabrics by treating them with steam. Ironing of synthetic materials is carried out without steam. The ironing press for the house will easily cope with gluing of interlining to fabric, thermal applications or patches. The use of this device will reduce the time for ironing large products, such as tulle, curtains, Linens, or a lot of things.

Ironing presses are indispensable for sewing and knitting enthusiasts. Stitched parts are perfectly steamed, and knitted ones will become soft.

What does it consist of

The shape of the press often resembles boards for ironing. They can be square, rectangular or even trapezoidal.

The basis of all ironing presses is:

  1. Two plates of the same shape and size - lower and upper. The bottom plate is stationary and acts as an ironing board. For convenience and quality of thermal operations the lower part of the press is covered with foam rubber, on top of which the fabric from natural fibers is fixed. If necessary, the fabric can be removed and washed or replaced with foam. The rack fastens to the bottom part. And already on a rack the top plate is established, which is a moving element. It resembles the soleplate of an iron, only large size, made of metal.
  2. Security unit switch. Helps to avoid accidental opening of the press.
  3. Thermostat light.
  4. Temperature regulator.
  5. Pen. You only need to open and close the device with the handle, otherwise you risk burning your hands.
  6. Sprinklers (for steam models).
  7. Pillow for ironing in hard-to-reach places.
  8. Electric wire.

Ironing presses come in different sizes. The smallest of them - ten times more than ordinary household irons.

Modes

The devices operate in two modes:

  1. Humidification. When you select this feature, the fabric is moistened with water, and when covering the product with a heating platform - steamed.
  2. Steaming. Water gets on the heating surface, where steam is formed, how linen is processed.

How it works

Immediately before starting the device you need to turn on and set the appropriate temperature. The fabric product should be placed on the bottom plate, level the surface and cover with the top plate. The latter, warming up to the optimum temperature for a particular type of fabric, by means of pressure on it smoothes all folds.
