Making sawmills with your own hands

Before proceeding to the assembly process, you need to take care of the availability of materials and tools from the following list:

  • channel or rails of metal;
  • branch pipes of various section;
  • electric motor;
  • tire and sprocket from the chainsaw;
  • welding unit and electrodes;
  • electric bulldozer and drill;
  • hammer, roulette and chalk.

Stages of assembly of the spray mechanism

  1. The first thing to do is make a rectangular frame. The tire is placed in the center of the base. Considering, that this element will be held, high load it is securely fastened on both sides.
  2. In most cases, the slave sprocket already has a hole, is intended for fastening of an element on a steel axis from a high-strength alloy. The axle avoids the movement of the tire in the horizontal direction. To prevent vertical displacement, two bearings are mounted as tightly as possible to the tire on the axle on both sides.
  3. The next step is to put on the sleeve, which clamps the bearings of the strip where the axis is welded to one side of the frame. On the opposite side is the electric motor and the chain tension control system. You do not need to invent anything, and you can just use ready-made spare parts for chainsaws.
  4. The drive drum is mounted on the shaft of the electric motor and fixed with a longitudinal key.
  5. At the finishing stage, the structure is centered and securely fixed in the housing.

Careful attention should be paid to mounting the engine when working with your hands, which will vibrate strongly during operation. So you need to take care, that the bed under it had sufficient rigidity.

Installation of a design on a basis

After assembling the working unit, it must be fixed on a metal frame, making which with their own hands consists of simple actions.

  1. Two blanks are welded from strong steel tubes, in shape reminiscent of the letter "P". The upper parts of the obtained blanks are fixed to each other by electric welding or bolts.
  2. In the center of a framework four branch pipes placed vertically are welded. On each element on the outside several small deepenings on distance are made 20 mm relative to each other to a depth of half the diameter of the tube.
  3. Four tubes are also welded on the working site, the inner cross section of which must correspond to the outer diameter of the pipes, placed on the base. Placement of elements, should be performed as follows, that branch pipes on a working site put on tubes of a bearing basis.

This design is necessary to ensure the free movement of the spray unit in a vertical position. Fixing of a working knot in necessary position on vertical is provided by means of bolts.

Stationary design of tire sawmill

Sometimes a homemade sawing device is placed on a concrete base. This allows you to ensure constant horizontality, but at the same time significantly slow down the process of sawing logs. To increase the convenience and efficiency of the tire sawmill, with your own hands you can additionally install an intermediate transmission mechanism - the clutch.

To do this, you need to mount a belt drive between the drive gear and the electric motor. Pulleys are mounted on the gears and the motor shaft, on which the belts will be stretched. Special rollers are used to press the belt product. To facilitate the work, you can borrow a ready-made design from the motoblock.
