The tablet does not dissolve in the dishwasher: What shall I do, causes of failure

The dishwasher makes life much easier for its owners, saving a lot of time, which would have to spend on washing dishes, even in a small family. And breaking the dishwasher is always inappropriate! One of the most common problems is the dissolving dishwashing tablet.

Types of tablets for dishwashers

  • one thing- and two-layer;
  • combined.

The most practical of them - combined for dishwashers. They contain all the necessary components for complete cleaning of dishes:

  • detergents;
  • conditioner for rinsing;
  • regenerates salt.

5 reasons why the tablet does not dissolve

  1. Some budget models of dishwashers do not support the use of certain types of detergents, this may be the reason, why the tablet does not dissolve. Read the instructions for your dishwasher, which detergents the manufacturer recommends for this particular model.
  2. You bought low-quality pills or counterfeit from a well-known company. Try different brands, if this does not happen again - the reason is obvious.
  3. Using a pill with a gentle washing program. In this case, the tool simply does not have time to dissolve completely during the program.
  4. The dosing compartment lid is locked. Check it out, how easily the automatic dispenser valve opens. If it is difficult to open, the tool can not get out of it and, in accordance, does not dissolve. It often happens, that the dishes in the machine are too many, and it closes the dispenser. At the end of the wash cycle, the compartment opens, and the dishwasher spits out the tablet intact. To avoid such trouble, check before each start of the dishwasher, that the utensils do not interfere with opening the lid of the dispenser.
  5. The dosing compartment is wet. In this case, a pill (and powder too) absorbs moisture, sticks to the bottom of the compartment and can no longer dissolve, or dissolves too slowly and not completely. In this case, the dishwasher does not even spit out the tablet, it remains undissolved in the dispenser.

If you are convinced, that your dishwasher does not have any of the above problems, and the tablet still does not dissolve completely or partially, call a repairman. Perhaps, the reason is insufficient water supply to the dishwasher due to failure of the recirculation pump, intake valve or spray clogging. In these cases, it is better not to try to repair your kitchen helper yourself, and trust the experts.
