If the weather is warm, then soon the culture will delight you with the first sprouts. What a disappointment, when you, already anticipating the crunch of fresh, fragrant cucumber, suddenly you notice on the young leaves of the plant disgusting spots of rust! What shall I do?

This is a sure sign, that the culture has been attacked by a fungal infection. If you do not get rid of this trouble, the disease is quite capable of deteriorating the health of the plant, and significantly reduce yields. Once the disease is identified, treatment should be started immediately. in addition, we must not forget about preventive measures, to prevent recurrence of the disease.

Black rot

At the beginning of the disease, cucumber leaves are covered with small reddish spots, and the edges of the affected leaf slightly change their shape. Gradually the damage spreads towards the center of the sheet, leading to its drying up and inevitable death. Blisters may appear on the damaged leaves later. If you do nothing, black rot will continue to develop, spreading on the stem of a cucumber, and the affected areas begin to secrete a sticky liquid. Fungicides are used to effectively control black rot.

The disease is provoked by a pathogenic fungal infection, which develops intensively at high temperatures and humidity. The first symptom of the disease is rusty spots on the leaves of the correct round shape. Uncontrolled development of the disease leads to the appearance of through holes in the affected leaves, giving the plant a burnt appearance. At the same time, spots will appear on the fruit, secreting a pinkish liquid in the morning. The main cause of the disease - water splashes, settle on the leaves of the plant.

Fighting the disease is not easy: in the early stages it can be defeated by the use of a fungicidal drug - Ben or chlorothalonil.

About that, that your cucumbers suffer from angular spotting, it is safe to say, if oily wet green spots appear on the plants, over time, acquire a rusty hue. Gradually the center of the lesion is torn, forming through holes in the sheet, secreting bacterial fluid. The same fate befalls the fruits of diseased plants: specific spots and white ulcers appear on them.

The disease develops especially well in warm conditions with high humidity. If you notice characteristic spots on your plants - immediately start spraying the beds with a solution of copper sulfate.
