Almost all new vehicle owners, consider it their duty to put plastic accessories on their car. Therefore, the installation of side window deflectors is very important.
The right choice of device
The first thing to consider when choosing window deflectors, that they are purchased exclusively in accordance with the specific make and type of vehicle. There are no universal models, because the design of the body and windows of each car model is unique. The main criterion, according to which all devices are classified, there is a way to attach to the car window. On this basis, distinguish the following categories:
- Side window deflectors with screw connection, to install which it is necessary to damage the hood and door frames, open in them;
- Devices, which are placed on a double-sided elastic substrate, treated with adhesive liquid;
- Combined deflectors. Their design combines several methods of mounting on car windows;
- Side window deflectors, which are fastened by means of special clamps and arms.
Window deflectors
Aggregates, to install which you need to drill holes, and thus violate the integrity of the coating of the car body are less popular. The most common today are the following two methods of installation:
- Glue the device with adhesive tape or insert it under a rubber gasket (used when working with window "windshields");
- Secure the device with the clamps, brackets and special adhesive gaskets.

For polishing it is best to use a technical solvent, duds, as well as paraffin - and wax-containing mastic. It is best to glue the side window deflectors then, when the weather is dry outside, and the body temperature is not lower than eighteen degrees. It should be taken into account, that installation work must be carried out simultaneously for the front, and for the rear windows of the car.
The following algorithm should be followed when installing a window deflector:
The process of installing deflectors
- On the surface of the car door frame, where the device will be glued, it is necessary to degrease by means of alcohol or alcohol-containing liquid and to wipe dry;
- The protective film on the adhesive part of the window deflector must be peeled off a couple of centimeters and bend up the peeled fragments;
- The side window deflector must be attached to the installation site, pre-lubricating the exposed parts with glue to ensure better adhesion to the surface of the window frame;
- After, as a visual assessment will confirm the correctness of the installation, the protective film must be carefully removed to the end and glued to the entire surface;

- The brackets are mounted on the hood and fixed in a strictly fixed place;
- The "pads" from which the film is removed are attached to the rear parts of the devices (strictly in that place, which is specified in the instructions);
