The recipe for drying plums in the oven is one of the simplest, as it requires minimal human intervention. You can make prunes in about a day, and when it is ready - feel free to add to any dish or eat as a standalone food. Smoked plums can be stored for a long time, and do not have to worry, that they spoil quickly.

Ingredients:

  • plums - 1 kg;
  • water - 0,5 l;
  • sugar - 500 G.

Every housewife should take this fact into account, what 1 kg of prunes comes from about 4 kg plums. In the process of cooking, they are dried, lose their juice and with it the mass. Based on this, and you need to calculate the desired amount of product, which can be obtained as a result of cooking.

Plums need to be sorted out and worms thrown away, if they are, and the remaining washed and cut in half. Remove the bones and discard. Now you need to make the syrup, whose recipe is very simple. The water should be boiled with sugar over high heat, then reduce the flame and add to the plum syrup. Bring everything to a boil. Then turn off the fire, drain the syrup and place the fruit on a baking sheet next to each other. Each half should be generously sprinkled with sugar.

Smoked prunes can be cooked in the oven at minimum temperature (40 ° C). It is necessary to dry in several measures: first 4 hours keep the temperature at a mark not higher 45 ° C, gave on 4 hours increase to 60 ° C, and at the end increase to 80-90 ° C. Everyone 4 hours you need to remove the pan from the oven and allow the fruit to cool. If you don't, then they may burst and lose juice.

The recipe calls for cooling the finished product approx 3 hours. When cooking at home, it is recommended to turn over the warm fruit, to allow them to dry evenly.

Smoked prunes will be ready then, when it gets dark, will acquire a matte shade with a light touch and will become elastic. It will also mean, that it is prepared without the use of chemistry. They will have to stand in the sun for about 6-7 days. They should be cleaned indoors at night. Every day the halves need to be turned over, to allow them to dry evenly. This recipe has one drawback: insects can get under the gauze.

Drying plums in an electric dryer

This recipe is perfect for cooking at home. The fruit is cooked in an electric dryer almost the same way, as in the oven. The fruits need to be washed, sort and cut into two equal parts. Then you need to boil water with sugar and soda and boil plums in this syrup.

After that, they are laid out in one layer, to dry well. If you put the halves in bulk, some can be prepared in full, and it will take more time. They should be placed cut up, to preserve juiciness and useful elements. The electric dryer is switched on and the temperature is set 50 ° C. It is necessary to dry in such mode approximately 4 hours, then allow the fruit to cool and heat again (at temperature 60 ° C). Across 5 hours the dryer must be turned off again and cool the plums. Then the temperature is increased to 80 ° C and leave the fruit on 6 hours. Now they must be ready. If done correctly, then the taste of the product will be even better, than purchased.
