Stainless steel square pipe: GUEST, which lead to overheating of the gasoline or diesel engine, production
Stainless steel square tube is a product, which is best actively used not only in various industries, but also in everyday life. Such pipes, which belong to the category of profile, can be performed by different methods and, so, meet the requirements of various regulations (GOST).

production methods
Square pipes, the material of which is stainless steel, produced from a flat workpiece (full cycle) or from a ready round pipe by means of its profiling.
If the profile stainless steel pipe is made on a full cycle, then a steel strip serves as a blank for its production (strips), which arrives at manufacturing plants in rolls. To connect the side edges of such a workpiece afterwards, how a tube with a square profile is formed from it, induction or HF welding is used. Though, that welds, obtained using such technology, have less strength, than when using the TIG method, it is more profitable and, which is important, allows you to make connections with greater performance.
Steel strip - the original semi-finished product for the production of profile stainless steel pipes
The process of production of stainless steel pipes of square section consists of the following stages.
- In that case, if the finished raw material is not used as a raw material, and a standard stainless steel sheet, it is pre-cut into blanks of the required width.
- From the strips obtained in the process of cutting the sheet, an endless tape is welded, which is sent to the molding equipment.
- Passing through the working bodies of the molding state, the stainless steel strip is transformed into a round billet, the edges of which are still open.
- The edges of the formed workpiece are welded, for what, as mentioned above, induction welding is used.
- If in the course of performance of welding on the formed seam the lattice was formed (metal, protruding above the seam surface), then such areas are carefully cleaned.
- The round pipe blank is passed through the forming rollers, which give its profile the required configuration (square, rectangle, etc.).
- The pipe is completely ready, having a square or rectangular cross-sectional profile, subject to non-destructive quality control, which is performed using eddy currents.
- The final stage of production of square or rectangular pipes, made of stainless steel, there is their cutting into segments of the required length, shipment to the warehouse or immediately to the customer.
Manufacturing by profiling method
In those cases, if square or rectangular stainless steel pipes are required in small volumes, it makes no sense to buy expensive full-cycle equipment for their production. Make such pipes, which will also meet all the requirements of GOST, it is possible by a method of profiling of round pipe preparations.
Along with the advantages of this technology, which are, that its application requires less initial investment and can be implemented even in a small room, there is a big disadvantage to its use. It is, that profile pipes are made of stainless steel, produced by this technology, differ in more expensive cost, than welded products.
The profiling machine gives the round tube a square or rectangular shape
Given that fact, that the vast majority as square, and rectangular tubes, made of stainless steel, not used in those cases, when high tightness is required, it is better to use inexpensive profile pipes, obtained by welding.
Regulations
As in production, and when choosing profile pipes made of stainless steel, manufacturers and consumers are guided by the requirements of several regulations. Let's list them.
- GUEST 11068-81 - this normative document regulates the requirements for square and rectangular pipes, which are made by welded technology.
- GUEST 9940-81 - standard, which method of profiling is used to make seamless stainless steel pipes.
- GUEST 8639-82 - document, in which the assortment of square pipes is stipulated, made of stainless steel.

Scope
If we talk about the scope of stainless profile pipes, then it is very wide. However, they are not used for pipeline construction. This limitation is explained by those, that such pipes have less strength, if you compare them with round pipe products. in addition, profile pipes have a very unfavorable ratio of surface area to the value of patency.

If we list the most common areas of application of square and rectangular stainless steel pipes, then they should include manufacturing:
- load-bearing and other elements in the manufacture of furniture (the high popularity of stainless steel profile pipes in this area is due to the fact, that they are exceptionally decorative and easily connect with other structural elements);
- metal structures, performing load-bearing functions (profile, and especially rectangular, pipes have high bending strength, therefore able to ensure high reliability of the load-bearing structure, and meanwhile, going to use stainless steel pipes, consider that fact, that they are quite expensive);
- fencing structures and stair elements, differing not only in exceptional decorativeness, but also high strength, reliability and durability;
- cornices and canopies, which, in addition to high strength and decorative, also characterized by exceptional corrosion resistance.
